Drafting Policies for a Better Future: #ESA23 Policy Drafting Workshop Prepares Students for Impactful Policy Writing

On May 4th, we held a digital workshop on effective policy drafting, led by economist, consultant and lecturer Derek Carnegie. The workshop was attended by selected participants from various panels, and aimed to develop skills in policy creation and proposal drafting.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of policy creation, including identifying and researching issues, proposing alternative solutions, and effectively communicating their proposals. Derek Carnegie, who has extensive experience in policy drafting, provided valuable insights and guidance throughout the workshop.

This workshop is part of ESA’s efforts to empower students with the skills and knowledge needed to become effective policy advocates and change-makers.

We thank all the participants and Mr Carnegie for their engagement and contributions to this workshop, and we look forward to seeing the impact of their policy proposals in the future!
