Our ESA students had a rare opportunity to virtually step into the corridors of the European Union Court of Justice. On May 8th, they were able to discover the work of this important European institution, gaining valuable insights into its functions and procedures.
The program featured a insightful meeting with Mr. W. Valasidis, a Judge at the General Court, with an interactive Q&A, an informative session on the recent Case-Law of the Court by Mrs. C. Socoliuc, Administrator of the Communication Directorate, and Mr. J. Zammit, Press Officer of the Communication Directorate, and a guided tour of the Court’s buildings with Ms. S. Afonso.
During the visit, students were able to participate in an interactive presentation given by representatives of the Court, and had the opportunity to ask questions in real-time. The visit also allowed students to learn more about the role of the Court in the European judicial system and the impact of its decisions on the daily lives of EU citizens.
We would like to warmly thank the European Union Court of Justice for making this visit possible, as well as all the participants who contributed to the success of this initiative, and the Université Franco-Allemande Deutsch-Französische Hochschule (UFA) for making this possible!
We are hope that this experience will contribute to the preparation of their future policy recommendations. Indeed, by better understanding the role and functioning of European institutions, our students will be better equipped to formulate relevant and impactful policy recommendations.
